To close out our parish’s 50th anniversary celebration this fall, all parishioners are invited to take part in our Memorial Tree Planting and Beautification Project. Participants are asked to make a memorial donation of $200 that will go into a general fund for the preparation of the ground/soil, purchase, installation, and maintenance of 12 trees that will be planted on the parish grounds to replace dead or dying trees.
The trees to be planted are:
Four maples
Four American sycamores and
Four red oak trees
The names of donors or those being memorialized will be added to leaves making up a tree-shaped plaque to be hung in the Gathering Space. The individual physical trees will not be marked with a memorial plaque since this is a communal project.
To take part, please download, print, and fill out the form below and return it to the Parish Office by September 15, along with your donation in either cash or check. You can also fill out the form in the Parish Office during business hours; staff requests that your donation be submitted along with the form.
Rock Creek Landscaping will plant the 12 trees toward the end of September 2022; Fr. John Dillon will lead a Blessing of the Trees after the 11:15 am Mass on Sunday, October 16. Please join us in supporting this tree planting project, which embraces the Laudato Si Action Plan promoted by Cardinal Wilton Gregory and the archdiocesan Care for Creation Committee!
For more information about the project, please contact the Parish Office at (301) 840-1407.
